We collect information you provide directly: name, email address, device information (type, brand, model), and safety checklist responses. If you use SSO, we receive basic profile information from the OAuth provider.

2. AI API Keys

If you choose to provide your own AI provider API keys, they are encrypted using AES-256-GCM before storage. We do not log, share, or use these keys for any purpose other than generating guides on your behalf.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and improve the Service
• To calculate safety scores and generate guides for your devices
• To process payments and manage subscriptions
• To send transactional emails (guide ready, score alerts)

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data with:

• Clerk — authentication provider
• Stripe — payment processing
• AI providers — only when generating guides, using either your key or ours; prompts contain only device type/brand/model information

5. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting [email protected].

6. Security

We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted connections (TLS), encrypted storage for sensitive data, and regular security reviews.

7. Children's Privacy

Digital Guardrail accounts are for parents and guardians. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
